DR. HENRY ATWOOD

Doctor Henry Atwood is a physician with a brilliant mind, and is quite an excitable young man, and can therefore quite easily get ahead of himself and become seriously enthusiastic over almost anything, as he is thrilled by discovery and of his work. Some would in fact regard him as alarmingly loopy, and a bit of a crackpot. He is most unpredictable, befuddling all with his intelligence, and occasionally playing the fool. Bizarrely, despite Atwood's charm and off beat humor, he can be far more aloof and sombre than many would expect him to be. When agitated, which unfortunately can happen often, especially if somebody mentions or questions the actions of his alter ego. He can become intensely brooding, serious and even callous without always meaning to be. This is a constant source of worry to him, as he almost constantly struggles with the opposing forces within him. He desperately wants to be a good man, but the temptation of being someone else and letting go of every inhibition is difficult to resist - as he has for a long time been completely unable to express his deepest emotions, which has lead him to bottle them up in an unhealthy manner, and is such the reason for his sometimes ruthless behavior.[/size][/blockquote]
When he is himself, Henry is relatively harmless, however whenever he is faced with a difficult decision, he can sometimes bring about his alter ego. He generally lacks self-control, his whole being is bursting with energy, which makes him restless and easily angered. He gains satisfaction through dangerously antisocial and sometimes murderous behavior - he does not not experience shame, guilt, or remorse for any of his actions and the harm that he may have caused others. His behavior is impulsive and irresponsible, and despite being as intelligent as the doctor, possesses no thought for potential consequences of his actions, not only for others, but also for himself; not deeply recognizing the risk of being caught or injured as a result of his behavior. He receives pleasure from the infliction of pain or even humiliation upon other people, proving him to be quite the dangerous character to be around. Often active around the night time, he uses his heightened senses to navigate London in search of such entertainment. His sadistic behaviour may be used to describe sexual practices, as he has a way with women, but not always; as Henry is sometimes able to suppress his other half if his actions become too extreme. Finally, he is obsessed with duality and determinate numbers, many of his actions can be based around the outcomes of chance. To him, it makes crimes far more interesting. This notable quirk of his shows how cruel decisions reflect his own conflicted personality.
