emmanuelle sophie lawrence This is Emmanuelle, a seventeen year old Englishwoman more commonly known as Emma, Emmy, or Em. She is part of the lower middle class and is accompanied there by her family: her father Albert, her mother Catherine, her eldest brother Levi, her older sister Georgia, and her younger brother Marion. Being the third born has always posed challenges in her life, like never getting the privileges her older siblings would get throughout the years. But being the baby girl has its advantages. She and Levi have created an especially close, affectionate bond over the years, and they're more often than not seen with each other wherever they go. Lately, Emma has been pulling away from the family system of virtues to explore her own world and decide who she's going to be. She's an ambitious, bright girl who never backs down when something becomes arduously trying. Beneath the exoskeleton of strength and feminism, she is a highly sensitive and hopelessly romantic heart. She fears being an old maid, but knows that having or not having a husband doesn't make her a better or worse human being. She has recently undergone strict training from her mother to become a governess to an upper class or aristocratic family.
friends These shouldn't be terribly few and far between. Naturally engaging, Emma loves to meet new people, especially those who seem to be not as socially able or are turned away from the center of the conversation. She doesn't care for egotistical centers-of-attention, so she often keeps to the outskirts of social gatherings to try to incorporate those who might be just as shy as she can be. Easy to get along with, Emma doesn't have many prejudices and appreciates most walks of life. She has an abiding distaste for aristocrats because they have treated her father poorly in the past, but she can't help but be intrigued by the way they live. Perhaps someday she can put her assumptions of their stuffy-headed ways behind her and become friends with one or two. lovers While she doesn't put herself "out there," she has been known to have a sharp eye for someone who might mesh well with her. Something innate in her is desperate for someone to lean on, mostly so compensate for her insatiable desire to have children (eventually), but she doesn't want to rush into something she might be unhappy with. She wants someone permanent in the future: someone who is on the same level of intellect, creativity, and kindness. Though, a little fire to spice up her whole vanilla outlook wouldn't be too bad once in a while. She's open to a variety of men--maybe even a bad boy or two--and she can be somewhat vulnerable to giving into the "heat of the moment." enemies Everyone has them, and Emma is no exception. She has self-made enemies, like most aristocrats, and doesn't hold back her tongue when she sees one doing something unjust. She bites back if they shun the lower class, always wanting to protect her family. Others may perceive her as a naive, goody-two-shoes, which could rub them the wrong way. So enemies are welcome! Give Emma an adventure!

eeeeeee they have to be friends. and very very very good ones at that. helen doesn't want to get attached buuuuuut that's inevitable. anyways, helen likes to think of herself as headstrong and determined, but on the inside she's soft especially when it comes to her pupil so that gets in the way. BUT SHE'S NOT A ROMANTIC. they could clash in a fun way with that one -nod nod- she comes from india, but her parents died while visiting and so she went to a charity school where she of course hated it and so when she got the chance, she lied to get out of it sooo she's actually sixteen but she's pretending to be eighteen--so regardless they're around the same age--but she's always trying to act more mature than she actually is but she's still technically a child. RUN ON SENTENCE? I THINK SO, but i think they would get along wonderfully and would be on equal footing with where they are in life and what they want and ect.
i know that's extremely vague, but i don't have any plot specifics atm just that i came up with something. WHAT IF em's family kind of became likee helen's psuedo family because she lost hers when she was ten? I... bet there would be a way and a how for them to meet and get close, we'll just have to think of something? But if not, whatever else you had in mind, if anything, i would love to hear!

of course they have to be friends! and they're in the same class, which means they'll have a very nice common ground that can be the foundation of their friendship. emma won't be able to leave helen out on the street; her first instinct will be to tell her to stay with her family until she gets on her own two feet. and the lawrence's are equally as welcoming, even to foreigners. ironically, emma's very interested in oriental and asian culture, so the fact that helen is originally from india will be another conversation piece.
so i love the plot idea. it'll be good for emma to have a gal pal to hang around with when levi's not around. ALSO, the fact that they're both working to be governesses is another bonding thing. haha. wow, they're like sisters!
perhaps they meet in the marketplace? maybe they'll be at an indian gypsy caravan or something and helen starts rattling off information about the items for sale? i don't know, just brainstorming here.

well she is living with the family she works with, but i can definitely see her needing a break from it and that's when she could always break away and go to visit the lawrences with em. annnddd for as to how they meet that sounds perfect! there could be some kind of market thing and of course helen would run over there and run into em and then they could get talking about how real or fake it is haha. but yes. they're precious!! :]]]]
