so i decided to post this partly on a whim and partly because i am so tired of writing papers or thinking about schoolwork in general. These are the characters I have so far but I have more in mind, so I'll be sure to add them later but for now it's only Avery, Brighton, and Lillian who are ready for any plotting ideas that anyone may come up with.
. lower middle-class. nineteen. [li] has more pride than is beneficial; a clever girl but remains a child in matters that don't involve an academic book or naming the rulers of ancient egypt.
[/li][li]considered a rebel but she is more of a radical. has unconventional goals like attending a university and becoming a historian-archaeologist like her uncle. [/li][li]envies men for the freedom they have while she has to settle for traditional roles already set out for her and it leaves her bitter about being a woman. [/li][li]she riles against the prejudices of society but has her own share of prejudices; skeptical and dismissive, she doesn't believe in the good of others until they've proven to her time and time again that they're sincere. [/li][li] once was a part of the upper-class [/li][li] works as a governess for her youngest cousin as a result of being disowned by her father - - - - - - - - - - friends are far and few in between because she can be so abrasive. lovers aren't exactly plentiful either. her only experience with love involved her french tutor who she only felt drawn to because of her impending marriage to a man she could care less about. enemies, on the other hand are something avery is familar with and doesn't mind trading barbs at all. in fact, she may be the most comfortable with people who dislike her, at least then she'll know that they're sincere and not after something. [/li][/ul] [/blockquote][/blockquote]
. lower-middle class.twenty-seven.[li]actress. being an actress had been her dream since she was a child living in philadelphia and has dictated much of her life since. [/li][li]definitely a high spirited and strong-willed person, lillian shaw has never hesitated in achieving her goals and to try and stop is as hopeless as trying to stop a storm once it begins. [/li][li] yet, fears that her former employer assumption that once her youth is gone, her career will wane as well. [/li][li] has only seriously cared for one person but with him being an aristocrat, she knew that it would never go far and allowed him to slip away and holds secret doubts to this day that it may have been the right decision. after all, in the opinion of others she can't always be an actress [/li][li] sincere, although she may embody numerous roles on stage she is nothing but lillian off stage. [/li][li] hates the thought of being bought as if she were an object, and will immediately turn down a man who expects her to fawn over him due to his wealth - - - - - - - - - - i'd like for lillian to have all three. she definitely needs some type of friendship to keep her sane but lovers aren't her priority because they will always, in her mind,be there or atleast there will be men who would like to be. she may have enemies though they might be those who dislike the somewhat arrogant attitude that she may have. so far that is all i have on my mind but i'll probably have more.[/li][/ul][/blockquote][/blockquote]
. upper-class. twenty-three.[li]full of youthful ambition, believes he can attain whatever he sets his mind to since life has usually turned out this way and isn't the least bit unsure that he won't be a parliament member like his father or even hold a higher position. [/li][li] amiable, brighton likes people and generally people like him also. has always found it simple to spark a conversation with a person he has never met and is known in most circles for being a very poised, mannerly, self-assured man. [/li][li] loves the thrill of risks though risking his life does not readily appeal to him, but he is a gambler through and through.like the gamble of a challenge; its equal to dangling bait in front of an animal, he almost can't resist it. even if it may end badly, he will do it over and over again. [/li][li]originally from russia, but his family and their neighbors were attacked during a progrom which were violent mob attacks against jews but brighton escaped and ended up in orphanage. [/li][li] has always known his parents to be his and did not believe differently until a young woman claimed to be his sister, leaving him terribly and totally bewildered. - - - - - - - - - - brighton will have all- friends, lovers, and enemies, frenemies, unrequited loves, perhaps a brotherly figure or not. Although he is a friendly person, most of his friend if not all will be of the upper-class and above.lovers, yup; past lovers, definitely. like most things in his life, women have handed themselves to him and has never had to fight for the attention of young woman. it would be interesting if he was forced to gain the attention of one. enemies would also be interesting. for some reason all i've been consumed with is thoughts of blackmail but that's because i can be dramatic though i doubt brighton will stand for such a thing. [/li][/ul][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Hey! I'm Effie! I only have Felicity who's an aristocrat, so maybe we could do something with her and Brighton? I really want to get Felicity involved in some kind of plot, so if you have any in mind, let me know!

Okaaaaay, so. I'm Jeenie. -waves- I have a pile of characters. -thrusts wildly in your general direction- Take your pick! I'll have a go at coming up with a few things, but I won't guarantee anything forged of genius tonight. If there's anything that sounds good to you, I ALWAYS love a thread or two. AVERY: I have Teddy, who knows everyone everywhere thanks to his absolute lack of class discrimination and his position as society's favorite soldier. He'll think she's overly abrasive and tell her so. If she listened to him, he would, of course, be lovely to her. But I imagine she won't. So he won't. Next we have Dorothy. An aristocrat, so I'm not sure if they'd meet. She occasionally pretends to be from the lower classes in a bid for freedom from social restraints, so she might know Avery that way. They'd have to be feminist partners in crime, or rivals - either might be fun. Rupert! Rupert flirts with everything. Shamefully. Or he did. Usually women take well to it, because he oozes charm. But if she'd have disagreed to it, he would have loved her even more, and followed her around. Maybe they'd have some sort of... quite nice relationship, in the end? Love to hate sort of thing? As for Iulia... If they met, they'd hate each other. Iulia is too nice and thick, Avery is too mean and clever. They'd clash horribly. Aaaaand - I'll think of ideas for the others tomorrow, for I must vanish now. LOVVE. -Jeenie.

effie. i didn't have anything really in mind but i thought maybe with brighton being who he is, he might have flirted with her for a bit but then completely lost interest when he began courting another woman, and without question felicity would probably despise him for it. which would lead to strained social reactions between them where its obvious felicity doesn't like him and brighton will be confused as to why she feels that way. or, something like that.idk, i like the idea of someone disliking brighton who believes he's well liked by everyone and nothing he can do will change that. sorry if it's uninspired,i've been concentrating on so many things these days .
jeenie. i really like your ideas for avery and i'd really like to know what others ideas you might have for the others. avery will definitely not like the idea that teddy calls her out on her attitude and you're right, she won't stop being abrasive although secretly she'll admit to herself that maybe she can be too abrasive. maybe she'll come to sort of respect him because of this.
I'm pretty sure that Dorothy and Avery would have met in the past since Avery was a part of the upper-class before her father's death. Avery, then and now has not changed much except she is slightly more bitter. so there's a possibility that they met and shared a few words, even more of a possibility that they were not on friendly terms. anyone who was not her cousins or very close to her cousins only received polite but sullen responses which would lead them to be feminist rivals then.
i was kinda thinking along the same lines with rupert and avery having some sort of a love to hate relationship especially after i was reading his history over. she would ignore him simply because experience has made her most men are insincere. i was thinking that since avery is pretty much wrapped up in her own life and rarely the lives of others that it'll be different with rupert. like one day she learns about rupert's parents and that'll change the way she looks at him, of course she won't completely change the way she is but she'll try to be nicer to him and we can see where that leads...

Felicity wouldn't dislike him for not flirting with her anymore, because she moves on rather quickly. But, if you can think of another reason for her to dislike him, I'll go with it!

tens years later.... effie. sorry for taking fooooorever.i'm not quite sure what relationship bri and felicity could have. brighton is in the simplest of terms a player who enjoys women but enjoys them too much to settle with one. as for now he may or may not have something with rachel's abigail who he had a bit of a history with but i have to see how things play out. i think they could have a brotherly/sisterly relationship though. one that would make brighton less focused on himself perhaps, so i don't know if that's good with you.

*trots into the thread* HALLOOOOW! I be Prachi and I have one character to share with you. Lady Vivianna Evans. Who is an aristocrat. So she would probably only associate with Brighton.

hey, i'm eva! =) and I have kind of had a few MUSE BURSTS with you, haha! so i do apologize for the obnoxiously long plots, BUT i think you will like them! =)
AVERY & NATHANIEL actually, i have a few options for this one. nathaniel is not your typical aristocrat in the way that he treats lower class individuals, b/c he knows exactly how it is. he is constantly harboring the secret of being a stable boy during the day, and through this personal experience, he holds a bit more respect for those "below" him than most people would. therefore, i do believe that these two would associate! and for whatever reason, i could see one of two options: - BUDDIES - Nathaniel wouldn't mind that Avery doesn't believe there is any good in people because he knows he isn't a good person. =) This would be a totally unconvential, no love involved relationship between them, and though he certainly won't be able to tell her everything, he could definitely be with her as an escape from the aristocratic, stressful life he carries around with him. Perhaps, in return, he could even start sneaking her into high-class parties if she so wanted. =D It would make some pretty sweet posts, actually.
- FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS - this would be the relationship where Nathaniel would take advantage of Avery's naiive side. after all, it doesn't sound like Avery has had a lot of experience with love...and Nathaniel has quite a bit. Not "love" love, but certainly all the side effects of it. A fun post might be one where he sort of plays with her, flirting, persay, and though Nathaniel would respect her enough not to go "all the way" with her, he might enjoy testing her, getting her "educated" for when she finds someone she really loves. idk, but i could see a SEXY, sexysupersexy post coming out of this relationship, however it is TOTALLY up to you!
BRIGHTON & MELODY THIS would also be pretty epic. Melody has had money all her life, and she despises "new money" people like Brighton with all of her being. Melody is quite the snake, too, and wouldn't hesitate in making it known to him that she despised him. His gambling is quite appealing, however, because though she is not a literal gambler, she is quite the gambler when it comes to her own life. Maybe she would play with him before sticking him to the dirt, maybe something else would happen, who knows, BUT i could see these two clashing quite well. Perhaps at the masquerade ball, these two could meet? i'd be more than happy to make a post!

Prachi. If Lady Viviana and Brighton had any semblance of a past chances are they hardly ended well. Brighton is as fickle as a child when it comes to women. He likes them all but never has met one girl where he has been committed to making a life with her. We could have something along the lines of a bad past or we could skip that and just start something completely new with them. Maybe it doesn't have to be romance, maybe a friendship. Just interject thoughts, comments, likes and dislikes, whatever you want!
Eva.
I really like your ideas for Avery and Brighton, just reading them in fact made me smile. For Avery and Nathaniel I liked the idea of them being friends since Avery doesn’t have many friends and those who are, are most likely related to her. The fact Nathaniel is friends with her would adjust her view on people somewhat because despite the fact she is just a lowly governess and he has no problem with that would surprise but please her in the end and earn Nathaniel some extra brownie points. Avery may be naïve when it comes to certain things but she won’t be ready and willing to be played by Nathaniel. His attention would probably get her all confused and flustered and she wouldn’t even be able to respond without blushing like crazy. But I just wanted to know would she know him as the stable boy Mason or Nathaniel the aristocrat. If she were to know both then she wouldn’t be so inclined to be reserved around him since Nathaniel would be disapproving her theory that most aristocratic men are pretty spineless and not worth her attention. Whichever persona you decide to show Avery will be interesting nonetheless. If you want I can post in Nathaniel’s open post where she’ll come possibly to the rescue but most likely she will since she abhors bullies.
As for Brighton and Melody, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. And I do agree it would be epic. Right off the back Brighton would be taken aback by her dislike of him since everyone adores him. It’s as if someone told him that the sky was purple all of a sudden. It will intrigue Brighton and encourage him to find some way to play with her emotions since he‘ll consider this another gamble that he has no choice but to play. When you mentioned the gambling it got me to thinking that even though Brighton can afford to gamble his parent’s money away ,his parents still disapprove of it. For one thing it doesn’t look good that a pillar in English politics would have a son who is less than good. Even though Brighton may be their beloved child they don’t want him gambling any more. Maybe, these two would have some sort of gamble going on whether it is a card game, a bet, a dare or whatever where Brighton loses and owes Melody a huge sum of money which she lords over him because he can’t quite pay it in full since his parents will surely notice that they’ve lost a noticeable amount of money. Melody would blackmail and just toy with him and enjoy the knowledge she has something over his head . This of course pisses Brighton off that a woman would dare do something like that and it just makes them hardcore enemies. And we can take it from there. I also noticed that they’re like kindred spirits in a way since they’re both hiding the real nature of their birth from the rest of the world. Maybe sometime this interesting tidbit they share could be revealed to the other but that’s just an idea.

OMG I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT THESE PLOTS! =)
AVERY & NATHANIEL alright, buddies it is! i could definitely see them being really good friends, despite their differences in personality. and i think it would be GREAT if you would post in that open post (which i will reserve for you), BUT know that this secret is...HUGE for him. if this ever got out, nathaniel's entire life would be shot down the toilet. however, this will certainly qualify them to being VERY good friends, so you can post as her already knowing he is a stable boy OR you can post as her just now discovering he is a stable boy! either one is appealing! YAY, i'm so excited, ok, post will be reserved for avery RIGHT now.
BRIGHTON & MELODY I AM SO PSYCHED FOR THESE TWO YOU HAVE NO IDEA! there might be some serious chemistry between these two in the end, lol! Melody will HATE being played with by Brighton almost as much as she dislikes him; she isn't used to people playing back at her game, and it would throw her for a loop almost as much as he! And I'm fairly sure that Melody will have heard at least a little gossip on him being in great attendance at nearby bars, which will be something she will certainly use against him. However, I doubt she'll have the entire story behind his gambling away his fortune; she'll simply be happy to have someone else with some dirt on him. And of course, both of them harbor secrets behind their birth, which WILL provide some scary and AMAZING posts. SO...i will make a post for these two RIGHT now. =D
